First of all, let me ask you, what do you see in the photograph ?
Girl in water, perhaps that is the first thing you saw, then you tried to understand what she is trying to do ?
Then you checked her surrounding and found, there are some leaves, and on one leaf there are three flowers.
If that is true, then let me tell you, you saw that correct, but there were a few more things, neither you could see, nor you you tried to understand them. And that is the problem with majority of the people. They see things what they were shown, what is highlighted, and ignore to understand other things, which were hidden behind them. Perhaps that was the key to many of their own questions.
How funny, isn’t it ? I am suppose to write about what is soul, what is body but I am discussing about Girl, Water, flowers, presentations etc. ?
Yes, I know, you are curious to know, what is soul (आत्मा क्या हैं) according to me or actually if there is any logical explanation about the content or not.
If that is true, then my friends, I would like you to look at the “Water Droplet” on the leaf. I am sure, now you saw that small water droplet on the leaf. If you closely observe it, you see that, it has its own identity, own individuality, until it stays on that leaf. Also, the water in the pond, has its individuality, own identity.
Both, water droplet and water in the pond, made up of same type of water molecules (H₂O), means their origins are same, but there are difference in quantity : One is in small quantity which we call “water droplet” and other is in bulk which we call “pond”.
Though, both has their own identity, still we must understand that the “droplet” is part of pond and it can sustain its own individuality only until it is on the leaf, the moment it fall into the pond, it become the pond itself. Here I am trying to say, the Leaf worked as body and provided a base for water droplet to experience its own existence for a short while.
Exactly, in this way, we are all made up of body, mind and soul. In fact we all were taught this by many people. Body and mind was explained in science books also, that’s why most of us know them also. But hardly we were convinced by the explanation of soul i.e. what is soul, or many just believed them because they were told by their religious teacher.
But, I don’t want you to believe me blindly, I want you to understand with your own logic. In one of my article “ Sanatan Dharm, the early Science “, I explained Soul and आत्मा is same both meaning “Energy” difference is only in language. Please do read my article in case if you have not read that yet.
I am sure, you are kind of convinced after reading my article, but still there are some questions in your mind, which are not answered.
To be honest, I would like to tell you, it is interesting to know that “all the living things in the world are made up of “non-living things“. To understand this, we have to go to the base, we are made up of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid = de + oxygen + ribo nucleic acid). Means, we are made up of infinite molecules of Oxygen, Nucleic Acids and many other molecules which are non living things, but their proportions, were, in a way, which were needed to create life in them.
Body helps the soul to experience its surrounding, the kind of body decide the type of experience the soul will have. In case, when the soul is in the human body, it will experience everything as you all are doing, the kind of food you eat, how much you sleep, how you reproduce babies etc. But when the soul is in the body of a cow, it will experience everything as the cow does, like it will eat grasses etc., when the soul is in the mosquito’s body it will drink other’s blood to live.
Until the soul is in any “body”, it will have all the experience of that body, the moment it leaves the body, it become the part of supreme/universal energy (आत्मा का परमात्मा से मिलन) , exactly in a way, you saw the “water droplet” fall into the water in the pond and become the whole “pond”.
Does this all make sense now ? At least, up to some extent ? I am sure, the answer is yes. Back in 2012 when I wrote my article “आत्मज्ञान “, which, though, due to some reason, I did not share on my current website, but definitely I would like to share the finish line of that, “If you are still not convinced with my explanations, if you think आत्मज्ञान, आत्मा, परमात्मा or the soul is something huge, then do you think, you would understand it overnight, or understanding small small things is the beginning to understand the whole“ ?
So my dear friends, here I have reached to the point, where I will try to conclude this article “what is soul ” that stop being the kind of people, who only looked at the Girl, Water, and flowers in the photograph, rather be those type of rare people who also observed even the smallest things, like the water droplet and see how magical life is.
